ABOUT

PROJECT LEAD // CHRIS UNWIN

Chris Unwin is a multidisciplinary creator based in Mexico City, working across art, objects, and spatial composition. His practice moves between the personal and the collective—exploring how material, form, and restraint can create moments of presence and quiet resonance.

Rooted in symbolism, abstraction, and intentional craft, his work prioritizes texture, weight, and atmosphere. Whether through art, furniture, or functional objects, each piece is approached as a gesture—designed to hold space, invite ritual, and ground everyday life.

Mas y Menos is an extension of this practice: a living framework where art and utility meet, and where less excess creates more meaning.

Beyond his own work, Chris operates as a curator and collaborator—bringing together artists and artisans who share a commitment to integrity of process, material honesty, and timeless design.

Mas y Menos is built through close relationships with makers working across disciplines, from visual artists to furniture builders and accessory craftsmen. Each collaboration begins with learning: understanding traditional methods, regional materials, and the philosophy behind the work.

These practices are treated as as living knowledge—integrated thoughtfully into contemporary forms that respect their origins while allowing them to evolve.

The result is a collection of art and objects shaped by dialogue, restraint, and shared intention.
